March 18-20: “Backcountry IBA survey”: Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument (OPCNM) & Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge (CPNWR).
Second survey trip of season. Leave the 18 th in afternoon. Camp OPCNM. Friday: survey canyons for breeding birds. Then travel to CPNWR, travel in 40 miles, backcountry road conditions. Camp. Saturday: survey wash systems for spring avian migrants. Return home. Need to be trained IBA Program participants, or with special bird survey background. Primitive camping at CPNWR.
