National Audubon Society Important Bird Areas science committee approved six Arizona IBAs for global significance. The total Global Important Bird Areas is now 14 of the Arizona\u00a043 IBAs.\u00a0Five IBAs\u00a0were recognized as Continentally significant for the endangered Yuma clapper rail on the lower Colorado River. Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge had another globally qualifying criteria added; concentrations of Clark\u2019s grebe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
