Six New Global Designations for Arizona IBAs

National Audubon Society Important Bird Areas science committee approved six Arizona IBAs for global significance. The total Global Important Bird Areas is now 14 of the Arizona 43 IBAs. Five IBAs were recognized as Continentally significant for the endangered Yuma clapper rail on the lower Colorado River.
